Building whatever the designers drew worked for two projects and stopped working on the third: every site started from nothing, and the same navigation, the same forms and the same performance problems kept coming back.

So the repeated parts became an internal component library and a deployment template. The next eight sites averaged two and a half weeks each, and every one of them painted its first screen in under a second, which had not been possible before.
